With understated design and the natural beauty of leather, REN strives to create tools that quietly accompany everyday life and bring out the individuality of the person who carries them. We hope to share this philosophy beyond borders.

In late May, we visited Taipei for the ONKUL DAILY STORE pop-up at hof, located in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park.

Although we had been reaching customers in Taiwan through our online shop, this was the first time people could experience REN in person.

Leather Bags for Early Summer

Summer comes a little earlier in Taipei than in Japan. As the city shifts into the season, people embrace lighter clothing with effortless ease. We stopped those whose style caught our eye and asked to photograph them. Against the backdrop of Taipei, we explored how individual style and REN's bags naturally come together. A collection of summer style snapshots from East Asia.

One thing that stood out to us in Taipei was the effortless way people embraced bare skin. Relaxed clothing, glimpses of tattoos, and a palette of black and white. The balance felt both natural and distinctive.

More than jewelry or accessories, it was the bag that seemed to shape each person's style. Layered against light clothing and bare skin, the rugged character of leather introduced a deliberate contrast. It was this interplay that gave each outfit its depth and quiet presence.

 

Quietly reaching those who connect.

The way people responded when they picked up our bags, the questions they asked, even their first reactions—none of it felt any different from what we experience in Japan. Wherever you are, the way people choose what they carry isn't so different. And wherever you are, there are people who naturally connect with what REN stands for. Rather than trying to reach everyone, we want to keep quietly reaching those who do. To continue evolving, while remaining unmistakably REN.

 

Through the people and streets of Taipei, we found quiet reassurance that we are on the right path.
