We asked Mr. Furuya, the owner of Daily’s Muffin who has been baking muffins to brighten up everyday life, to try out REN’s plant-dyed tote, the Metro Carry.
It’s not something you feel determined to use every day, nor does it spark excitement like “I want to carry this today!”
And yet, before you know it, you find yourself reaching for it every day.
"Isn’t that kind of amazing?"

“I often carry documents, so I really appreciate that it fits A4-size papers with room to spare. It’s easy to take things in and out, and very practical. I’m 180cm tall, and with bags that are exactly A4-sized, they can look a bit small on me and feel off. But the size of the Metro Carry L feels just right—and that’s one of the reasons I like it.”
The three inner pockets have also found their place in his daily life, coming in handy without him even thinking about it.
How effortlessly it pairs and fits into daily life
“The color, the texture, the shape—it just goes so well with what I wear. I never chose it because it was plant-dyed, but maybe that’s exactly why it has this unique feel. The result speaks for itself.”
It doesn’t make a loud statement, yet it has a clear presence. The understated character of the Metro Carry felt perfectly in sync with Mr. Furuya’s daily wardrobe.

“It simply fits my style—that’s why I end up using it every day. With my muffins as well, I try to create something people can enjoy day in and day out. Perhaps, without realizing it, that same sense of comfort is what links the two.”
