Goat Mesh is a series of leather mesh bags made by connecting finely cut strips of goat leather using a traditional stone pavement weave technique.
Light and breathable, these bags are perfect for carrying with ease during the warmer seasons.

This material is handcrafted one by one in an atelier in India.
The neatly aligned weave pattern reflects the beauty of skilled handwork.

Goat Mesh offers a variety of silhouettes, and the “Basket XS” is a charming handbag with a distinctive single handle. Its rounded silhouette, created by a circular bottom gusset, adds a playful touch to the design.

A softly rounded handle extends seamlessly from the bag’s body, adding a sculptural accent to your look — almost like wearing an accessory. Its simple construction highlights the natural beauty and texture of the Goat Mesh material.

Small in size but roomy enough for all your essentials — wallet, pouch, smartphone, and more. Even with a 350ml bottle inside, the bag’s height leaves plenty of space to spare.

The woven pattern offers a slight transparency, but the contents inside are not overly noticeable. If you’re concerned, we recommend styling it with an inner pouch or scarf for added coverage and charm.

Wrapping a scarf around both sides of the handle not only adds a personal touch, but also helps conceal the contents of your bag. Try switching up the pattern or color of the scarf to match the season and enjoy the change in look.

Although it is a leather mesh bag, its lightweight finish is one of REN’s signature qualities. Thin strips of goat leather are carefully handwoven, piece by piece, around a wooden mold. This process requires a substantial amount of leather, but by skiving the goat leather thinly, the bag remains light without compromising durability. This is only possible because goat leather, even when thin, retains excellent strength. Goat Mesh bags are the result of combining the naturally dense fibers of goat leather with the careful craftsmanship of skilled artisans—creating a bag that is as comfortable to use as it is beautiful.

This leather mesh is woven from vegetable tanned goatskin leather.The more it is used, the more it softly blends in, the more it becomes shiny, and the deeper its color changes.

Because long strings of cut leather are carefully woven together, it takes about five times as much leather to make a product as it does to make the same area of product. The knitting is beautiful down to the smallest detail, and the ateliers in India, where skilled craftsmen gather, spare no effort.The regularly woven leather is durable, yet cool and lightweight.
