The “Sleek Path” is a shoulder bag that combines firmness and flexibility, born from its structured oval-shaped base. Made from cowhide/Aperto leather, it exudes a sense of luxury while remaining light and supple. The harmony between its structured form and the leather’s softness is what makes this bag truly distinctive.
Some parts, such as the opening and pockets, are intentionally left with raw edges. This reflects REN’s rebellious spirit—the desire to preserve the presence of leather without over-refining it.
The bag is deep enough to neatly hold a folding umbrella or a water bottle upright. The opening can be securely closed with a carefully designed, leather-covered button, keeping the contents discreetly hidden from view. A sturdy base plate ensures stability and allows the bag to stand on its own. The snap button at the top is wrapped in leather, creating a cohesive and refined finish.
The shoulder strap is slightly offset from the center and attached along one side of the body, rather than directly at the sides. This allows the bag to rest comfortably against your body when carried on the shoulder, preventing it from swinging or shifting as you move.
APERTO
REN’s original leather, “APERTO”, is a mixed-tanned cowhide crafted by skilled tanners in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture. Infused with ample oil, the leather fibers are softened to achieve a refined, delicate grain. Despite its lightweight and supple texture, it retains exceptional strength even when processed into thin layers. Over time, the leather develops a richer softness, sheen, and character, offering an evolving charm with use.
This series marks REN’s first adoption of a backing process. The interior lining features “Bonseyn,” a high-grade artificial suede known for its superior elasticity. Its sophisticated texture and lightweight nature complement Aperto’s elegance, resulting in a more refined and polished series.
“APERTO” seamlessly blends the beauty of leather with functionality, offering a completely new experience that sets it apart from previous REN collections.
