The Sleek Path is a shoulder bag that showcases a beautiful balance of structure and suppleness, born from its firm, oval-shaped base. Crafted from APERTO cowhide, it carries a sense of luxury without being stiff — instead, it feels lightweight and smooth to the touch. The harmonious contrast between its structured construction and the leather’s natural flexibility is what makes this piece truly captivating.

Some elements — such as the raw-cut edges around the opening and pockets — are intentionally left unfinished. Rather than refining every detail too much, we allow the leather’s presence and character to remain. It’s a subtle expression of REN’s independent spirit.

The opening fastens with a fabric-covered button designed as part of the bag’s refined look, keeping the contents discreetly out of sight. A reinforced base helps the bag stay upright and keeps your belongings neatly in place.

The shoulder strap can be adjusted freely by tying a simple knot. Its primitive, unforced design is part of what makes it so appealing.

APERTO

REN’s original leather, “APERTO”, is a mixed-tanned cowhide crafted by skilled tanners in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture. Infused with ample oil, the leather fibers are softened to achieve a refined, delicate grain. Despite its lightweight and supple texture, it retains exceptional strength even when processed into thin layers. Over time, the leather develops a richer softness, sheen, and character, offering an evolving charm with use.
This series marks REN’s first adoption of a backing process. The interior lining features “Bonseyn,” a high-grade artificial suede known for its superior elasticity. Its sophisticated texture and lightweight nature complement Aperto’s elegance, resulting in a more refined and polished series.
