#45/ Float mini shoulder (bitter brown) / cowhide "APERTO"

The Float Mini Shoulder is a tubular shoulder bag built around softly rounded, inverted triangle side panels.
These triangular ends are trimmed with piping to maintain the bag’s shape while making the most of the supple leather. Even with just a few items inside, it still looks refined. Compared to a standard cylindrical bag, its form fits more comfortably against the body—one of its subtle yet thoughtful details.

Compact yet roomy, this horizontally shaped bag fits even a long wallet. It features a zip-top closure, and the upper part flares out slightly, allowing the opening to widen for easy visibility and access to the contents. Meanwhile, the tapered base helps maintain its shape—even when filled—preventing the leather from sagging or collapsing.

The shoulder strap is made from a rounded cord, threaded through openings near the center of each side of the bag—giving it a light, almost floating appearance. You can adjust the length by tying the ends of the cord at your preferred position.

Another thoughtful detail: the rounded cord strap isn’t fixed in place. Because it threads through the openings without being secured, the body of the bag can pivot around those points—making it easy to access your belongings while wearing it crossbody.

APERTO

REN’s original leather, “APERTO”, is a mixed-tanned cowhide crafted by skilled tanners in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture. Infused with ample oil, the leather fibers are softened to achieve a refined, delicate grain. Despite its lightweight and supple texture, it retains exceptional strength even when processed into thin layers. Over time, the leather develops a richer softness, sheen, and character, offering an evolving charm with use.
This series marks REN’s first adoption of a backing process. The interior lining features “Bonseyn,” a high-grade artificial suede known for its superior elasticity. Its sophisticated texture and lightweight nature complement Aperto’s elegance, resulting in a more refined and polished series.

“APERTO” seamlessly blends the beauty of leather with functionality, offering a completely new experience that sets it apart from previous REN collections.
