Goat Mesh is a leather mesh bag made by joining thinly cut strips of goatskin using a traditional technique called “stone pavement weaving.” It's a perfect series to carry effortlessly during the warmer seasons.

Each piece is handcrafted in our atelier in India. The neatly aligned weave pattern reflects the beauty of skilled craftsmanship.

The Goat Mesh series offers a wide variety of shapes. The “Box Shoulder” can be worn as a crossbody or a shoulder bag, making it a versatile option. Its vertically elongated, spacious design also adds to its practicality.

The wide strap is seamlessly woven from the body of the bag, offering a secure and stable fit when worn over the shoulder. By tying the strap, you can also enjoy it as a shoulder tote bag. While the strap may feel slightly stiff at first, it gradually softens with use, making it easier to tie and more comfortable to wear over time.

Despite being a leather mesh bag, REN’s Goat Mesh series is remarkably lightweight — a result of our commitment to comfort and craftsmanship. Each strip of goatskin leather is carefully thinned and hand-woven piece by piece over a wooden mold. This intricate process requires a generous amount of leather, but by skiving it thinly, we achieve a lighter finish without compromising durability.

This is made possible by the inherent strength and dense fiber structure of goatskin. The result is a bag that offers both the natural strength of the material and the refined touch of skilled handcrafting — light, flexible, and a pleasure to carry.

This leather mesh is woven from vegetable tanned goatskin leather.The more it is used, the more it softly blends in, the more it becomes shiny, and the deeper its color changes.

Because long strings of cut leather are carefully woven together, it takes about five times as much leather to make a product as it does to make the same area of product. The knitting is beautiful down to the smallest detail, and the ateliers in India, where skilled craftsmen gather, spare no effort.The regularly woven leather is durable, yet cool and lightweight.
