The unique shape of a messenger bag, combined with the soft, supple pigskin leather of HALLIE, allows it to accommodate any belongings naturally, no matter how you pack them. Whether worn crossbody, carried in front, or slung over one shoulder, it gently conforms to the shape of your body. The darts on the front panel also add a natural, rounded volume to the silhouette.

The fold-over flap itself actually functions as an additional storage space. It’s perfect for keeping items you want to access frequently or things you'd like to keep separate from the main compartment. Since the fabric forms a double-layered pocket, the added weight allows it to drape even more softly—a feature that adds to its appeal.

The shoulder strap is reinforced with a cotton tape lining, making it gentle on the skin and resistant to color transfer. With adjusters on both sides of the strap and a double zipper on the flap pocket that allows flexible opening and closing positions, the design ensures ease of use no matter which shoulder you wear it on.

HALLIE

This is REN's original pigskin. Pig skin is a material that is relatively prone to scratches and uneven coloring, and was commonly used as a backing material. However, we saw its potential in its light weight, high density, durability despite its thinness, breathability, and fabric-like suppleness. By studying the differences in density and texture of different parts of the hides, as well as the dyes used, and by developing a method that wastes as little raw hides as possible, the appeal of this material is now reaching many people.

Because it is natural leather, REN makes bags without discarding the scratches, grains, and uneven coloring that are part of the leather's character. Scratches do not disappear, but the more you use the leather, the more the surface of the leather becomes shiny and the more the scratches and color irregularities become familiar.
