While mesh bags are often associated with summer, Sheep Mesh is a unique exception—it’s a mesh bag made for the colder months. This material is offered exclusively during the autumn and winter seasons.

With its densely woven pattern and softly cushioned texture, it pairs beautifully with cozy winter outfits, adding both warmth and refinement.

It pairs perfectly with heavier outerwear like autumn trench coats or wool coats. Simply adding Sheep Mesh to your outfit brings an instant touch of elegance and refinement.

The defining charm of Sheep Mesh lies in its exceptional softness. Crafted from supple sheep leather, it offers a luxuriously smooth and moist texture that seems to cling gently to your hand. The moment you touch it, you'll be surprised by just how soft it feels. The overlapping layers of leather—unique to mesh construction—add extra volume and cushion, resulting in a finish that feels delightfully plump.

Despite the tightly woven mesh pattern, this bag remains surprisingly lightweight. Creating such intricate detailing requires a significant amount of leather, which would typically result in a heavier bag. However, the Circle Basket weighs only around 350–400 grams—roughly the same as a single apple or a 350ml can. It’s light enough to lift effortlessly with one hand, making it exceptionally easy to carry.

One reason this bag feels so light is the natural lightness of sheep leather—but it’s also thanks to REN’s thoughtful design philosophy. To keep the bag lightweight, we avoid using metal hardware wherever possible. Even at the opening, only leather drawstrings are used. The choice of soft lining materials and a construction that skips stiff reinforcements all contribute to the bag’s effortless lightness.

Even with your daily essentials like a tumbler, a folding umbrella, or an A4-size notebook, there’s still plenty of room inside the generously sized main compartment.
While rigid items like books and notebooks may not fully show off the bag’s rounded silhouette and softly padded texture, it still offers a dependable amount of storage for everyday use.

The wide, single-shoulder handle offers a comfortable fit over the shoulder, making it easy to carry even with a full load. The weight of your belongings is distributed well, so it doesn’t feel too heavy on your shoulder.

Although it may look slightly large at first glance, once you sling it over your shoulder, the weight naturally softens the shape, allowing the bag to mold to your body. The more you use it, the more supple it becomes—eventually feeling like something you wear rather than carry.

 SHEEP MESH

Sheepskin originally tanned for gloves is knitted into a single piece of leather mesh using the Ajiro knitting technique. This method is similar to the knit and sewn method used for clothing, where the leather is knitted into a single piece and then cut and sewn. To take advantage of the supple texture of the raw hides, more oil is added than usual. The pigment used to adjust the color is also mixed with oil and sprayed very thinly to make it blend in, in pursuit of a touch that feels as if it is absorbed by the hand. This material was completed with the cooperation of an atelier in India where craftsmen specializing in the formation of leather mesh gather.
